The health areaWhy metabolic health matters

Metabolic health — how your body manages glucose and energy — underlies weight, energy, and long-term risk of type 2 diabetes and cardiovascular disease.

Markers such as glucose and insulin-related measures reflect how well your body is managing energy, often before symptoms appear.

The gapWhat routine testing may not cover

A routine fasting glucose alone can miss earlier changes in how your body handles sugar. A broader metabolic picture can add useful context.

Because metabolism changes gradually, repeat testing and clear explanation help you understand your direction, not just a number.

Educational examplesRepresentative markers, explained

These are representative examples of the kinds of markers a clinician may consider in this health area. They are educational illustrations — not a confirmed catalogue, and not labelled as included, available or part of any package. Until Saathya's diagnostic catalogue is confirmed, exact tests and inclusions will be published once finalised.

  • Fasting glucose

Your blood-sugar level after not eating for several hours.

    May help assess:
Screens for raised blood sugar and diabetes risk.
    Cannot alone:
A single normal result does not rule out earlier changes in glucose handling.
  • HbA1c

Reflects your average blood-glucose levels over roughly the past two to three months.

    May help assess:
Gives a longer-term picture of glucose control than a single reading.
    Cannot alone:
It does not show day-to-day variation and is interpreted alongside other results.
  • Fasting insulin

The amount of insulin in your blood after fasting.

    May help assess:
Can add context about insulin resistance when interpreted by a clinician.
    Cannot alone:
It is not a stand-alone test for insulin resistance or diabetes.

Any result is interpreted by a qualified professional in the context of your symptoms, history and other findings — never in isolation.
